Responsible for filing and collecting insurance claims occurring as a result of services provided to patients of Hancock Regional Hospital.


Monitors the status of all outstanding patient accounts and initiates appropriate action to insure timely resolution of the account. Assists in the maintenance of the hospital Meditech information system. Provides timely response to all patients and insurance companies. Provides timely and accurate requests for resolution of all credit balance accounts.


High school graduate or equivalent with courses in typing, accounting, and general office skills; medical terminology; experience in computer operations; 40 wpm typing speed; successful experience in working with general public.
Experience in billing Part A Medicare for Hospital Outpatient and Inpatient as well as Oncology and Radiation billing and coding preferred. Specifics would include HCFA 1500, UB04 Forms and familiar with the Medicare DDE system.
