Performs CT and general x-ray procedures according to written department protocol as requested by physician's order, or unless modified by radiologist's preference. This type of position will work 3 12 hour shifts per week.
Assists radiologists and other physicians as required. Assists in maintaining a safe working environment throughout the facility. Relates to patients of all ages. Available for holiday shift, on-call and call-back responsibilities. Will supervise and evaluate students as assigned. Able to work independently.
Possess knowledge of cross section anatomy. Possess knowledge of CT and general radiography scanning protocols. Possess knowledge of Radiology equipment and pre-exam screening requirement within 3 months of hire date. Ability to critique processed radiographs (or images on monitor) against measurable criteria as established by the Radiology Department Standard Operating Procedures. Ability to administer IV contrast as directed by radiologist. Possess knowledge of patient safety precautions and contraindications. Must be a Registered Radiology Technologist (registry eligible) in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current valid license with the State of Indiana as a Diagnostic X-Ray Machine Operator. Must be CPR certified. Previous CT/X-ray experience/training preferred, CT Registry (AART) preferred.
