The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for leading and teaching group exercise classes in a safe and appropriate manner.
Performs safe and effective group exercise classes.
•Arrives before start of scheduled class time to set-up.
•Follows established procedures when equipment is found to be malfunctioning in an effort to return it to operational status within 24 hours, including notifying the Group Exercise Manager or maintenance personnel, and recording the problem in the equipment log binder.
•Remains knowledgeable and proficient in all facility rules, regulations, and policies and enforces when applicable.
•Maintains current information on all center programs, services, and activities, and promotes them regularly.
•Responds to all emergency situations according to facility policy and procedures.
•Greets members and guests by name and with a smile, and delivers world-class customer service at all times.
•Finds substitute instructors for own classes when needed and notifies Group Exercise Manager of changes.
•Attends all scheduled employee meetings.
•Assumes other duties and projects as assigned.
Group Fitness workshops/study preferred in area of specialty for classes taught.
BLS (Basic Life Saving)/CPR certification required.
Required: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
