The Environmental Services associate has a customer service mindset with a desire to serve patients and their families. Associate has the ability to effectively interact with other associates, physicians and visitors. This position performs its duties and responsibilities in accordance with Hancock Regional mission and values.
The Environmental Services associate cleans and sanitizes hospital areas using established housekeeping procedures and waste disposal protocols. Responsibilities include thorough cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms and patient treatment areas, cleans blood and body fluid spills following infection control standards, collects and dispose of infectious and non-infectious waste, responds to ad hoc requests from nursing staff and patients, collects and transports soiled linen, cleans carpet, walls, windows, furniture. Associate also maintains an inventory of common supplies, distribute clean linens, change draw and window curtains and perform various project cleaning tasks.
Physical requirements include frequent pushing, pulling and bending. The ability to continually stand/walk . Ability to lift 20 pounds regularly and 40 pounds occasionally. Perform repetitive lifting, reaching, wrist and hand movement. Work with a variety of cleaning products.
